200th Anniversary of the Illyrian Provinces

In 2009, we celebrated the 200th anniversary of the creation of Napoleon's Illyrian Provinces (1809-1813). The Provinces were of great importance for the development of the Slovenian national movement and public use of the Slovenian language.

The web pages briefly describe the creation, development and the importance of the Illyrian Provinces and the programme of celebration,  beginning with  the high-level visit of the French Prime Minister in May 2009 and ending with the exhibition Sous l'aigle de Napoléon closing in February 2010.  More>>
