Beijing, 7 August

Education and Sport Minister Milan Zver and Hu Jiayan, Chinese deputy secretary of General Administration of Sport, signed in Beijing on Thursday an agreement on cooperation in sport.

The agreement highlights exchange of information, joint activities in preparing and carrying out projects, cooperation in analysis and research, exchange of literature and cooperation among experts.
Hu said that China was especially interested in Slovenia's experience in winter sports. She also thanked Zver for help and trust China had received from Slovenia in the last seven years when preparing for the Olympic Games.
Zver noted that, as the country presiding the EU in the first half of 2008, Slovenia supported China in organising the Olympics and rejected all calls for boycotting the event.
