TUESDAY, 26 August
LJUBLJANA - Environmental NGO Umanotera is to hold a pres conference entitled "Change the Climate - Election 2008"
LJUBLJANA - The Ljubljana Faculty of Arts will host international conference dubbed "Experiencing Diversity and Mutuality".
LJUBLJANA - The American embassy in Ljubljana will hold a video conference on the US presidential election.
CELJE - Veronika Prize for the best collection of poems will be conferred.
PADNA PRI KOPRU - Publisher Studentska zalozba is organising a talk with writer Borut Pahor, a member of the Slovenian minority in Italy, and present his autobiography.

WEDNESDAY, 27 August
GENEVA, Switzerland - Health Minister Zofija Mazej Kukovic will attend the World Cancer Congress (running until 31 August).
LJUBLJANA - Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Mojca Kucler Dolinar will attend the presentation of the agreement that the European Space Agency and Slovenia signed in May.
MEDANA - The Medana festival of poetry and wine will get underway.
LJUBLJANA - Traditional Night Time in Old Ljubljana will begin.

THURSDAY, 28 August
SALZBURG, Austria - Health Minister Zofija Mazej kukovic will participate in a two-day informal meeting of the region's health ministers.
BRDO PRI KRANJU - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec and Slovenian Chief-of-Staff Lt-Gen Albin Gutman will hold a reception for athletes employed by the Slovenian Armed Forces.

FRIDAY, 29 August
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Tourist Board (STO) is to hold a press conference to mark the first charter flight between Japan and Slovenia.
PIVKA - Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik is to visit the Pivka municipality.
KANAL - The annual Kogojevi dnevi music festival is to kick off.

SATURDAY, 30 August
LJUBLJANA - Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek is to start a two-day visit to Slovenia.

SUNDAY, 31 August
BLED - Bled Strategic Forum entitled "Energy and Climate Change: Si.nergy for the Future" is to get underway. To be attended by Prime Minister Janez Jansa.
LJUBLJANA - Latvian Prime Minister Ivars Godmanis is to visit Slovenia.
