Slovenian Film "Estrellita" Wins Another Award
Slovenian film "Estrellita" by Metod Pevec received an award at the Motovun Film Festival, which closes Friday evening. The film, which examines the life of Bosnian immigrants in Slovenia, was awarded by Amnesty International because it promotes human rights in the most intriguing way.
According to the jury, the film "speaks of prejudice, not judging those who hold it but rather trying to understand their actions, meeting the key criteria for the Amnesty International Award".
The film has been very successful so far, receiving eight awards at festivals worldwide. Audiences in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Germany will be able to see the film in fall.
Estrellita is a drama about an old Italian violin which sparks violent conflict among main characters. It goes from one extreme to another in love, music and greed. The main characters are played by Silva Cusin, Marko Kovacevic, Mediha Musliovic, Senad Basic, Tadej Troha, Karin Komljanec and Ana Temeljotov.
