Petrol Increases Half-Year Net Profit by 33%
Energy group Petrol posted EUR 30.8m in net profit in the first six months of 2008, which was 33% more than in the same period last year. Operating profit was also up a whopping 42%, topping EUR 35.7m, Petrol said on Friday.
The group generated in the first half EUR 1.4bn in sales revenues, which was 51% up year-on-year. Between January and June, it sold 1.16 million tonnes of petroleum products, which was 29% more than last year.
The sales revenues from supplementary assortment of products went up by 41% to EUR 164m.
At the end of June, Petrol ran a total of 415 gas services, 310 in Slovenia, 39 in Bosnia-Herzegovina, 61 in Croatia, three in Serbia and two in Kosovo.
After acquiring in February a 51% share in oil retailer Euro-Petrol in February, it became Croatia's second largest oil retailer.
Petrol group also sold by the end of June about 183,000 megawatt hours of electricity, up 5% year-on-year.
