Portoroz, 27 July

Italian tennis player Sara Errani won the fourth Slovenia Open in Portoroz on Sunday, downing Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues in straight sets 6:3, 6:3 in the final of the US$ 145,000 WTA tournament.

Errani, the No. 8 seed, needed 97 minutes for the win in the final, which was marked by long ball exchanges. It is the second tournament victory for the 21-year-old this year, her first having come only two weeks ago in Palermo.
"This is like a dream, first the win in Palermo and now here. It was great here, it is warm, many kind people, and will be glad to come again," Errani said after the match. She dedicated the win to all Italians who doubted that her playing style would get her far.
Fourth seeded Garrigues (25) played her third final of the year today after having to play both the singles half-finals and the double final on Saturday. She won the doubles competition at the side of compatriot Virginia Ruano Pascual.
"I think Sara was better player than me today. I am sorry that i could not play my best tennis today, but Porotoz will remain on of the best tournaments of the year and I will be glad to return here in the future," Garrigues said.
