Cabinet Adopts Education Programme for Unemployed
Ljubljana, 18 June
The government adopted Wednesday a EUR 9.9m education programme for the unemployed in the 2007-2008 academic year. The document aims at integration of the unemployed in formal education ranging from primary to lower-tertiary levels. It is to include over 3,500 individuals, with an emphasis on the young under 26.
The programme is expected to encourage young people to continue their education, build their individual vocational profiles and raise the general level of education.
The government also adopted the final report of last year's programme, which involved a total of 4,017 unemployed people, 3,883 of which were involved in programmes of formal education.
