Slovenian "Spare Parts" Ranks Among Top Ten Eastern European Films

Ljubljana, 13 June

British monthly film magazine Sight and Sound, published by the British Film Institute (BFI), included Slovenian film "Rezervni deli" (Spare Parts) by Damjan Kozole on its top ten list of films from New Europe or countries of Eastern Europe with communist past.

The list features films such as Romanian Cannes award-winning "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days", co-production "Nikogarsnja zemlja" (No Man's Land) and Hungarian "Taxidermia".
In its June issue, the magazine focuses on the best of the new cinema from Eastern Europe. The issue features 20-page long review of films from Eastern Europe since the fall of communism and a list of ten most important films of the New Europe.
"Spare Parts" premiered at the Berlin Film Festival 2003 and was rewarded at several other film festivals. The film was distributed all over Europe and the US.
British newspaper The Guardian has graded it with five stars and called it "one of the most important and most provocative films of the year".
Five years after its premiere, "Spare Parts" is still on at the cinemas around the world. In the UK and US it has also been released on DVD.
