TUESDAY, 17 June
LJUBLJANA - MPs are to take re-vote on the National Council vetoed amendments to the higher education law and discuss amendments to the criminal procedure act, the enforcement of penal sentences act, and the bill attorney fees.
LUXEMBOURG - EU accession conferences with Croatia and Turkey.
STRASBOURG, France - President of the Justice and Home Affairs Council, Slovenian Interior Minister Dragutin Mate, is to present in the European Parliament the directive proposal on the return of persons.
PORTOROZ - Conference entitled "Organised Civil Society as an Engine of Intercultural Dialogue", organised by the European Economic and Social Committee and the Social Council of Slovenia.
LJUBLJANA - Representatives of the Ministry of Labour, the Family and Social Affairs, are to present activities to be held in Slovenia as part of the European Campaign for Safety and Health at Work 2008-2010.
BRDO PRI KRANJU - Informal meeting on forest management strategies and the role of forests in tackling climate change.

LJUBLJANA - MPs are to be be asked to fast-track the bill on the taxation of profit from derivative financial instruments.

BRDO PRI KRANJU - The 8th Clearinghouse for SE Europe (SEEC) conference.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Public Agency for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investment (JAPTI) is to host a panel with representatives of Slovenian business abroad.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Possible meeting of EU science ministers concerning the seat of the European Institute for Innovation and Technology.
STRASBOURG, France - Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant is to speak at a meeting of the Kangaroo Group about better regulations and administrative barriers on EU level.

THURSDAY, 19 June
BRUSSELS, Belgium - European Council meeting, chaired by Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa, is to get underway.
LJUBLJANA - MPs are to debate the report of the inquiry commission that investigated the work of prosecutors in the term of the previous government, between 2000 and 2004.
LJUBLJANA - Weekly session of the government.
LJUBLJANA - Session of the Supreme Court, which will also be attended by President Danilo Tuerk.
LJUBLJANA - Unicef is to host a public debate on international development aid in a time of rising food prices.
SANTIAGO DE CHILE, Chile - Conference of parties to the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling, also with Slovenian participation.
LJUBLJANA - A concert of the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is to open the 56th Ljubljana Summer Festival.
MARIBOR - A two-day symposium entitled "Franz Kafka and Robert Walser" is to begin.

FRIDAY, 20 June
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Day two of the European Council meeting, chaired by Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa.
LJUBLJANA - MPs are to debate a new bill on mining and amendments to the energy act which are expected to boost investment in renewables.
PODCETRTEK - Start of two-day informal meeting of defence ministers from SE Europe.
GOTENICA - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate and police chief Joze Romsek are to attend the central ceremony marking Slovenian Police Day.

SATURDAY, 21 June
LJUBLJANA - The traditional Museum Summer Night will give visitors a chance to visit the institutions free of charge.

SUNDAY, 22 June
LJUBLJANA - Voters across Slovenia will flock to polling stations in what will be a consultative referendum on the government plan to divide the country into 13 provinces.
