Slovenian Composer Wins International Festival Competition
Weimar, 23 May
Young Slovenian composer Nina Senk won the composition contest at the 9th Weimarer Fruehjahrstage fuer zeitgenoessische Musik contemporary music festival last week.
She entered the festival competition with her composition "Movimento fluido". Each year, an international jury chooses the finalists of the competition from a number of contestants ahead of the festival.
The finalists then work with an ensemble or an orchestra during the festival, as they each have a certain amount of time to rehears with the performing artists. This year it was the Weimar-based Marges ensemble.
