Ljubljana, 20 May

Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel received on Tuesday newly appointed Brazilian Ambassador to Slovenia, Debora Vainer Barenboim, the first resident ambassador of a Latin American country in Slovenia.

Rupel accepted the credentials of Vainer Barenboim and labelled the event as very important. He said that Slovenia highly esteems the cooperation with Brazil, Slovenia's most important economic partner in the region.
He announced that Slovenia would open its embassy in Brazil, which will be the country's second embassy in Latin America, according to the Foreign Ministry.
The Slovenian Public Agency for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investment (JAPTI) will also shortly open a representative office in Sao Paolo.
