The general assembly of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) confirmed on Tuesday its white paper in which it lists measures for boosting the competitive ability of Slovenia's economy. The document includes key strategic positions for talks with the government, project leader Alenka Avbersek said.
The document stresses technological breakthroughs and globalisation, and amends last year's version with environment protection, energy efficiency and spatial planning.
It lists short- and long-term measures through which social partners can pursue coordinated activities to boost the competitive edge of the economy.
The aim of the book is to generate a "clear, target-oriented communication with all the decision makers," added Avbersek, executive manager for legislation and policies at the GZS.
Also taking part in drafting the document was independent consultant Bostjan Lozar, who stressed in his opening address that Slovenia was lagging behind in services more than it did in industry.
Lazar believes that Slovenia is the least developed in those activities that bring the highest value added. This requires structural changes to the business models and a public discussion on the country's development.
The white paper includes 88 measures in seven categories.
