Slovenia's men gymnasts had an excellent outing on Sunday in front of the home crowd at the Salamun Memorial in Maribor. Aljaz Pegan and Alen Dimic had a one-two finish on the high bar, while Mitja Petkovsek took third on the parallel bars.
The large crowd at the World Cup meet were on hand to see total Slovenian domination on the high bar, as Pegan scored 15.35 to top the competition, while Dimic came in second with 14.95.
Petkovsek scored 15.65 for third place on the parallel bars. The winner was Yann Cucherat of France with 15.9 points.
Unfortunately, the Slovenian women could not match the performance of the men, as Adele Sajn (13.475) had to settle for eighth place on the beam following a mistake. The winner was Canada's Kristina Vaculik (14.975).
In the vault, Korea's Ri Se Gwang mastered his two attempts to demolish the competition with a score of 16.4 points.
The Salamun Memorial was the last chance for European competitors to perfect their routines ahead of the European Championships in Lausanne on 8-10 May.
