TUESDAY, 15 April
BRDO PRI KRANJU - Launch of a two-day informal meeting of EU ministers in charge of competitiveness with Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Mojca Kucler Dolinar in charge on day one, while Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak is to preside on day two.
LJUBLJANA - Turkish parliament speaker Koeksal Toptan is to pay an official visit to Slovenia.
MARIBOR - Start of a two-day meeting of senior officials for trade and investment of EU and Asian countries is to kick off.
SLOVENJ GRADEC - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to take part in an event aimed at acquainting would-be soldiers of the Slovenian army on their options to serve in the armed forces.
LJUBLJANA - Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik is to take part in a symposium on renewable energy sources as opportunities for Slovenian companies.
LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Craft and Small Business is to present a conference on elimination of red tape, also attended by Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant.
LJUBLJANA - President Danilo Tuerk is to speak about topical legal and justice issues on the Ljubljana Faculty of Law day.
LJUBLJANA - The Programming Council of public broadcaster RTV Slovenija is to hold a session.
CELJE - An exhibition of photographs on the activities of the Slovenian Armed Forces in Afghanistan is to be opened. Celje Mayor Bojan Srot and Defence Minister Karl Erjavec are to be on hand.

WEDNESDAY, 16 April
PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Interior Minister Dragutin is to meet his Czech counterpart Ivan Langer.
PARIS, France - Roman Rep, state secretary at the Public Administration Ministry, is to take part in 37th regular session of the OECD.
VRHNIKA - President Danilo Tuerk, Chief-of-Staff Lt-Gen Albin Gutman and Defence Minister Karl Erjavec are to visit Force Command.
KRANJSKA GORA - International conference on training and research in ICT is to be attended by Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Mojca Kucler Dolinar.
MARIBOR - Postal operator Posta Slovenije is to present its 2007 results and plans for 2008.
LJUBLJANA - The government Religious Communities Office is to organise a meeting of representatives of religious communities.
MARIBOR - The 11th Slovenian days of book are to kick off. The event runs through to 24 April.

THURSDAY, 17 April
BRDO PRI KRANJU - Launch of a two-day informal meeting of EU ministers responsible for health.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Foreign Policy Committee is to discuss relations between Slovenia and Croatia behind closed doors.
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - The two-day EU Justice and Home Affairs Council will be chaired over by Slovenian Justice Minister Lovro Sturm and Interior Minister Dragutin Mate.
PORTOROZ - The European People's Party, the largest grouping in the European Parliament, is to hold a two-day meeting dedicated to EU values, intercultural dialogue and climate change.
LJUBLJANA - Regular weekly government session.
ROME, Italy - Transport Ministry State Secretary Peter Verlic is to address the participants of the SafetyNet international conference on road transport safety.
PORTOROZ - Environment Minister State Secretary Mitja Bricelj is to take part in a meeting that is to pave the way for the 9th session of the Slovenian-Italian-Croatian commission for the protection of the Adriatic.
BLED - International conference on elimination of red tape for small and medium companies is to kick off.
LJUBLJANA - Czech writers Pavel Brycz and Radka Denemarkova are to make a guest appearance at the festival of Slavic cultures.
FUESSEN, Germany - Agriculture Ministry State Secretary Branka Tome is to attend an international conference on the management of land and forests in the hinterland of the Alps.

FRIDAY, 18 April
LJUBLJANA/MARIBOR/KOPER - Slovenian doctors and dentists are expected to begin their general strike.
PORTOROZ - News conference after the close of the European People's Party meeting.
ZALEC - International conference on evaluation in education is to begin.

SATURDAY, 19 April
SKOPJE, Macedonia - Agriculture Minister Iztok Jarc is to pay a visit to his Macedonian opposite number Aco Spasenoski.
BRDO PRI KRANJU - Start of a four-day meeting of directors general for youth.

SUNDAY, 20 April
BRDO PRI KRANJU - A three-day informal meeting of the Committee on Cultural Affairs is to discuss mobility of artists and other professionals working in the field of culture.
