The European Commission has endorsed a programme of cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Croatia for 2007-2013. The available pre-accession funds for the period until 2009 amount to EUR 15.72m, the Government Office for Local Government and Regional Development said on Tuesday.
The programme gives priority to socio-economic development and sustainable management of resources. The first priority includes development of tourism and entrepreneurship, regional development and social integration.
Development of human resources and the information society also ranks high in the programme, which is being funded 85% by the EU.
Eligible for funds are non-profit organisations working in public or general interest and belonging to one of the beneficiary groups, such as regional or local government bodies, NGOs, chambers of commerce, industry, agriculture or crafts, or clusters.
