Ljubljana, 21 February

The government adopted on Thursday amendments to the medicinal products act. The amendments are needed to align the rules on setting the prices of drugs, Health Minister Zofija Mazej Kukovic told the press after the government's session.

The amendments define the highest possible prices of drugs that are paid for by public funds and include an option for agreement on lower prices of drugs.
Only the highest allowable prices will be set and the manner of setting them put down in an implementing regulation, the minister added.
