The average net wage in Slovenia amounted to EUR 846.38 in October, which was 3.2% more than the previous month, and up 8.9% year-on-year, the Statistics Office said on Monday.
The average gross wage amounted to EUR 1,303.92, a 3.6% increase on September. The increase is due to a higher number of working days in October amounting to 9.3% more working hours than in September.
Higher wages were also higher due to bonuses, 13th wages and other extra payments in some companies. Altogether, almost 3% of employees received an extra payment in October, amounting to EUR 414.50 on average.
Disregarding the extra payments, the average gross wage stood at EUR 1291.70 in October, which was 2.6% more compared to September.
Taking into account the growth in consumer prices, the average gross wage was up 2.9% in October over September. In real terms, the gross wages went up by 1.4% year-on-year.
Compared to the previous year, the average gross wage went up 5.7% in nominal terms and 2.4% in real terms in the first ten months of 2007.
