TUESDAY, 18 December
LJUBLJANA - EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana is to pay a two-day visit to Slovenia.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - European Affairs State Secretary Janez Lenarcic is to meet Pierre de Boissieu, Deputy Secretary-General of the EU Council, and his French counterpart Jean-Pierre Jouyet.
LJUBLJANA - International energy exchange Eurex and energy company Borzen are to present to the press their partnership for establishing regional energy exchange SouthPool.

WEDNESDAY, 19 December
LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to conclude its December session.
BRDO PRI KRANJU/LJUBLJANA - A delegation of the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament is to pay a two-day visit to Slovenia.
LJUBLJANA - Portuguese Finance Minister Fernando Teixeira dos Santos is to visit Slovenia.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian-run International Trust Fund for Demining (ITF) is to talk about its work in 2007 and plans for 2008.
LIPICA - Kobilarna Lipica, which runs the Lipica Stud Farm, is to present its work in 2007 and future plans.
LJUBLJANA - A panel on how to ensure long-term balance between economic growth and welfare state.
TRIESTE, Italy - Slovenian-Italian intergovernmental commission for the construction of the Trieste-Divaca/Koper-Divaca railway is to hold its maiden session.

THURSDAY, 20 December
BRDO PRI KRANJU - Transport Minister Radovan Zerjav is to meet his Portuguese and German counterparts, Mario Lino and Wolfgang Tiefensee
LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its regular weekly session.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik is to attend a session of the EU Environment Council.
BERN, Switzerland - European Affairs State Secretary Janez Lenarcic is to sign an agreement with the Swiss Federal Council on a joint programme for reducing economic and social differences.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Petitions, Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission is to debate the case of journalist Tomaz Ranc, whom the police illegally supervised in 1999.
BEIRUT, Lebanon - Deputy Chief-of-Staff of Slovenian Armed Forces, Maj-Gen. Alojz Steiner, is to visit Slovenian troops in the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon.

FRIDAY, 21 December
LJUBLJANA - Slovenia will enter the Schengen border-free zone. The event will be marked by numerous ceremonies at border crossings with Austria, Italy and Hungary.
LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to convene a special session and a ceremony will be staged ahead of Independence and Unity Day.
LENDAVA - Transport minister Radovan Zerjav is to meet his Hungarian counterpart Csaba Kakosy.
LJUBLJANA - The Transport Ministry is to present its programme for Slovenia's stint at the helm of the EU.
LJUBLJANA - Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik is to attend the opening of an environment NGOs centre.

SATURDAY, 22 December
LJUBLJANA - Danilo Tuerk, who was elected Slovenia's new president on 11 November, is to take oath at the National Assembly.
SKOFIJE - A ceremony attended by high representatives of the EU, Slovenia and Italy is to mark Slovenia's entry into the Schengen zone.

SUNDAY, 23 December
LJUBLJANA - Constitution Day.
