Sales, Profit at Mercator Buoyant
Ljubljana, 6 November
Mercator, Slovenia's leading retail group, increased net sales by 19.3% in the first nine months of the year to EUR 1.75bn. Net profit grew nearly 70% year-on-year to EUR 36.1m on strong growth in Slovenia and abroad, the company said after a session of the supervisory board on Tuesday.
Excluding the balance sheet of Serbian subsidiary M - Rodic, which was consolidated in the fourth quarter of last year, and the Croatian chain Presoflex, which was integrated in August this year, net revenues grew 5.6%.
The company said the bottom line was strongly affected by extraordinary profit from the sale of assets and financial property. Excluding extraordinary items, pre-tax profit was up just over 25% over the year before.
