Slovenia News 16 October 2007

Editorial
At 12 October extraordinary session PM Janez Jansa presented to the National Assembly the draft position of the Republic of Slovenia on the Draft Treaty amending the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty establishing the European Community. According to the PM, it is significant for Slovenia that the draft includes most of the text of the failed Constitutional Treaty and provisions that Slovenia considers vital. At the 29th extraordinary session of the National Assembly Jansa also presented together with Finance Minister Bajuk the supplementary budget for 2008 and the 2009 budget bill. The PM said the budget for the next two years is economical and development-oriented, and it will enable Slovenia to reduce the lag behind the EU's most developed members even more rapidly.
