Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel received in Ljubljana on Monday Polish Culture Minister Kazimierz Michal Ujazdowski for talks on bilateral relations. The officials agreed that relations between the countries were good, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
According to Rupel and Ujazdowski, bilateral cooperation is being developed at various levels and areas, including within the regional partnership, the Central European Initiative, and the Salzburg Forum.
The legal basis for the cooperation between Slovenia and Poland in this field is provided by the agreement on cooperation between the two governments in education, culture and science, and in the accompanying programmes for the 2003-2006 period.
Slovenian language courses are organised at Polish universities in Krakow, Warsaw, Katowice and Lodz. Poland and Slovenia also cooperate within the cultural platform of the Central European countries and the Forum of Slavic Cultures.
