Luka Koper Discusses Cooperation With Thai Logistics Companies
Slovenian port operator Luka Koper presented last week its activities at the international logistics fair in Thailand's Bangkok, and discussed with the Association of Thai Freight Forwarders (TIFFA) possibilities of using the port of Koper as an entry point for freight transports from Southeast Asia.
Suwit Ratanachinda, the president of the TIFFA, which joins 120 logistics companies, promised a return visit to Koper in the beginning of 2008, Luka Koper said in Friday's press release. The management of Luka Koper also met representatives of Leam Chabang, the biggest Thai port, discussing the cooperation of both ports. Leam Chabang annually transships of 700,000 cars and 4.5 million containers.
Both ports see a possibility of cooperation in the area of container and car transport by establishing a logistics link with Central and East Europe.
