Brussels Airlines to Launch Flights to Ljubljana in November

Brussels, 19 September

Belgian airline Brussels Airlines is to start flying between Brussels and Ljubljana as of 19 November. The airline will operate the route six times a week, Brussels Airlines said in a press release on Wednesday.

"By opening the route, Brussels Airlines welcomes Slovenia ahead of its EU presidency, which starts in January 2008," the company said. Tickets will be from EUR 49.99, with the taxes included.
Slovenia, as the first EU newcomer to preside over the bloc, enjoys a favourable economic growth and is also a member of the eurozone, which is the reason why Brussels Airlines decided to open the route, the press release reads.
According to Brussels Airlines, the fight schedule is suitable for business trips, visits to town and short holidays. The company believes the rout will pay off as Slovenia's has great tourist potential with its skiing facilities, modern wellness centres, mountaineering spots and the coast.
The link between Ljubljana and Brussels was also boosted by the national flag carrier Adria Airways, which on 11 September added two flights to the route. Adria Airways now flies between the Belgian and Slovenian capitals 18 times a week.
