Government Adopts Programme on Education of Unemployed
The government adopted on Thursday the programme on education of the unemployed for the 2007-2008 academic year. According to the Labour, the Family and Social Affairs Minister Marjeta Cotman, the programme is aimed at providing the unemployed with formal education and improving their employability.
The programme ranges from the primary education to the secondary and lower-tertiary education. It is estimated at EUR 8.69m, and is to include about 3,500 persons, Cotman told after today's government session.
University education programme in the 2007-2008 academic year will include persons who started their education in the previous academic year. One of the target groups are persons who concluded an agreement on education with their employers and were later made redundant due to bankruptcy, said Cotman.
