Airport Manager Ups Revenues, Profits
Aerodrom Ljubljana, the manager of Slovenia's largest airport, generated revenues to the tune of EUR 17.09m in the first half of 2007, 33% more than in the same period last year.
Operating profit shoot up by 70% to EUR 6.1m, while net profit more than doubled to EUR 7.49m. the company said on Tuesday.
The company generated 65% of its revenues with services on the Slovenian market (up 18% over last year), while 28% came from foreign markets (up over 50%).
Aerodrom Ljubljana invested EUR 15.3m in construction and equipment this year, with the bulk of the funds earmarked for the completion of the first phase of a new passenger terminal, which opened on 9 July.
A total of 640,888 passengers flew to or from the airport in the first six months of the year, an increase of 13% year-on-year. Cargo transports rose by 58% to 10,246 tonnes. The company plans to increase the number of passengers to 2.2 million a year by 2015 and up the amount of cargo to 23,300 tonnes.
