Slovenia and Azerbaijan to Cooperate in ICT

Ljubljana, 28 August

Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak and his Azeri colleague Ali Abbasov signed on Tuesday in Ljubljana an agreement on cooperation in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), the Economy Ministry has said.

The agreement will enable the two countries to further develop cooperation in ICT through the exchange of ideas, information, know-how and experience. What is more, conditions will be created to increase joint investment, pursue common interests, and boost technological development and trade in the field.
According to the ministry, the Azeri economy grew by 35% in the last year. Azerbaijan also plans major investments in ICT, with the bulk of the money expected to come from the sale of oil.
Abbasov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, is paying a two-day visit to Slovenia upon the invitation of Vizjak.
