Ljubljana, 27 July

Abanka Vipa generated EUR 19.23m in net profit in the first half of the year, up 32.1% over the same period last year and 33.1% above the target figure, the third largest Slovenian bank said in a press release on Friday.

The release also says that the bank's total assets increased by 12% to EUR 3.19bn in the period, which puts its market share at 8.6%. This means Abanka consolidated its position as the third bank on the market, after NLB and NKBM. The biggest owners of Abanka Vipa are chemicals-through-tourism conglomerate Sava (23.77%), insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav (21.27%), asset management Zvon Ena Holding (16.08%), mutual fund Triglav Steber 1 (7.32%) and gaming company Hit (6.10%).
