Kresnik for Best Novel Goes to Lainscek

Feri Lainscek is the winner of the most prestigious Slovenian book award. Lainscek received the Kresnik Award for best novel of the year for "Maurisa" at the ceremony at Roznik, a hill above Ljubljana.
The 47-year old writer from the northeastern-most region of Prekmurje received a EUR 5,000 check from Peter Jancic, the editor-in-chief of daily Delo, which gives out the award, while he also got the honour to lit a bonfire as part of the ceremony on the Midsummer Eve.
