Slovenia's second largest city will this year again play host to the Lent festival, the largest music and theatre festival in Slovenia. This year, the 15th edition of Lent is to feature 400 musical, theatrical and literary events in 22 venues throughout Maribor.
3,900 performers from 36 countries will be featured at Lent this year, including the band Living Colour and Maceo Parker, former saxophonist of James Brown.
The novelty at this year's festival will be stand-up comedy performances by Slovenian and Croatian comedians. The two most attractive theatrical performances, are to be "Kabaret" (Cabaret) by Mestno gledalisce Ljubljansko and "Bakhantke" (The Bacchae) by SNG Nova gorica.
On the literary stage such renowned authors as Mitja Cander, Brina Svit, Miljenko Jergovic, Desa Muck and Feri Lainscek are to appear.
The 16-day festival will also feature sports events, street theatre and a diverse programme for children.
