Slovenians Join Global Meditation Initiative

Around 250 people gathered in Tivoli park in Ljubljana on Sunday to meditate as part of a global initiative. The organiser of the event in Slovenia, Nina Thalan, said the goal of the meeting was "to bring the spiritual world closer to the people".

The event in the centrally-located park in the Slovenian capital was part of the Global Peace Meditation Day.
The meditation programme was divided into three parts: in the first, the participants imagined social harmony in Slovenia; the second included them chanting "Let Peace Take Over the World"; and the third included the participants forming a circle with their hands.
The meditation session was monitored by scientists from Princetown University (USA) who used a computer model to measure the effects of the group meditation for the state mind in the world.
The global meditation day was organised by the Club of Budapest and Laszlo Foundation. The biggest gatherings were reported in towns in India, the Netherlands and Italy.
