The opposition Social Democrats (SD) have come head-to-head with the ruling Slovenian Democrats (SD) in the latest Politbarometer survey, which gives both parties an approval rating of 19%.
The SD however trumps the SDS by 25% to 22% if the voting preferences are combined with the question "which party do you feel closest to," reveal the results of the survey, which were presented on Friday.
The clear winner of this survey is the SD, the only opposition party ever to surpass the ruling party in terms of voter preference, said Niko Tos, the head of the Centre for Public Opinion and Mass Media Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
