EU House Opens in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, 22 March

An EU house providing information about the European Union opened in Ljubljana on Thursday as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.

The EU house, which is located in the old city centre of Ljubljana, is a joint project of the European Commission Representation in Slovenia and the Information Office of the European Parliament.
Information about the workings of the 27-member bloc, its institutions and EU policies will be provided by experienced staff daily from 10 AM to 4 PM.
A conference hall accommodating 40 people will be available free of charge for EU-related events.
Mihela Zupancic, the head of the Commission's Representation in Slovenia, said at the opening ceremony that deliberations about the past and the future of the EU were essential.
Discussions about the future in particular require good information, so the EU house is very important, she added
