The government of Cyprus decided on Wednesday to open an embassy in Slovenia, the Cypriot press agency CNA reported citing government spokesperson Christodoulos Pashiardes.
According to Pashiardes, the embassy would be opened during this year, ahead of Slovenia's stint as EU president in the first half of 2008. Cyprus currently has a consulate in Ljubljana, while the embassy responsible for Slovenia is based in Vienna. Slovenia does not have an embassy in Cyprus, but instead covers the country with its embassy in Greece. Slovenia has a consulate in Cyprus.
