The Sadar Vuga Arhitekti architecture bureau is launching in Barcelona on Friday an exhibition of its projects in the Slovenian capital over the past decade.
The exhibition entitled "Formula New Ljubljana" is hosted by the RAS Gallery in the Catalan city. While acting as a forum for showcasing the work of the respected architecture duo, it also explores the potential for development of Ljubljana.
Architects Bostjan Vuga and Jurij Sadar say their goal is to enrich the architecture of the city by creating a new layer in its identity without destroying the old one.
This is a reflection on how Ljubljana, as a medium-sized European city, could develop in the future. The project is designed so that it can be applied to other European cities of similar size, Vuga said at a press conference in Ljubljana on Thursday.
The exhibition, which was created to present Slovenia at the 10th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, uses photographs, models and text to display 26 projects undertaken by the bureau over the last decade.
The exhibition is to travel to other European cities in the coming months.
