A retrospective exhibition on Laibach, the world-famed Slovenian industrial music band, has been put on display at the Artikraak gallery in The Hague. The exhibition features photographs that highlight major events in the history of what has been the most notorious and successful cultural export of Slovenia and Yugoslavia.
According to the organisers, the "Laibach Focus" show depicts the broader social, historical and political background of Laibach's work.
The exhibition kicked off last Friday, when Laibach performed in nearby Utrecht as part of their tour marking the release of their new album "Volk". It will run until 24 December.
The material for the exhibition, compiled by gallery Photon and the Dutch organisation Artikraak, is divided into three parts - a collection of concert photographs, a selection of studio recordings and an "off-the-record" series.
A special part of the exhibition presents the activities of the NSK collective and a separate projection room offers more than 10 hours of film material.
Featuring work of various photographers from Slovenia and abroad, "Laibach Focus" is structured to be a dynamic project altering its collections as it changes the location.
After it was first put on in Ljubljana in 2004, the exhibition has been supplemented with pictures by different foreign photographers and has so far toured Vienna, Zagreb, Belgrade and other cities.
