Slovenia opened on Tuesday a consulate in Linz, Austria, which will be headed by Honorary Consul Guenther Grassner, the Foreign Ministry reported on its website on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, the new consulate will cover the state of Upper Austria, which is the strongest Austrian state in terms of economy, and one of the leading regions in Europe in technology and innovations. Slovenian Ambassador to Austria Ernest Petric handed Grassner the official documents at the ceremony attended by the Governor of Upper Austria Josef Puhringer and other guests. In Austria, Slovenia also has consulates headed by honorary consuls in Wagrain, Graz and Innsbruck. Its general consulate is located in Klagenfurt.
