Santa Claus left his reindeer in Finland, where they are resting and preparing for the Christmas eve, he told the press after arriving in Slovenia from Zagreb airport on Tuesday. He also arrived without his trusty helpers, the elves, but still plans to visit as many children as he can before returning to Finland on Thursday.
Santa, who arrived in Slovenia at the invitation of the Finnish embassy, was happy to be here and hopes to meet lots of children and give them some of the Christmas magic. On Wednesday he met Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Jankovic, however, spent most of the time visiting kindergartens and schools around Slovenia. Santa's workshop is in Rovaniemi, Lapland, where people can also visit him. However, his home is at the top of the Korvanturturi mountain, near the Russian border, where most of his helpers, elves and reindeer, live. He believes this is the best possible place for his home, since he can hear all children's wishes there. Santa receives 7,000 letters from children all over the world every year.
