Kos Reelected Head of GRECO
Ljubljana, 08 December
Drago Kos, the head of the Corruption Prevention Commission, has been reelected president of the Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO), according to Friday's press release from the Slovenian anti-fraud commission.
Kos was backed by 37 out of 40 states represented at the vote during the 31st session of the GRECO plenary assembly in Strasbourg. GRECO associates 43 countries, which makes it the biggest organisation operating under the Council of Europe.
GRECO was set up in 1999, Slovenia being one of the 19 founding members. Kos was elected head of the group in December 2002. The group's main job is to screen the member states' combat against corruption in legislation, institutions and practice.
