Prime Minister Janez Jansa, accompanied by four ministers and a delegation of more than 60 executives, payed a five-day visit to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. He concluded the tour on Wednesday, 15 November, by making an unscheduled stopover in Iraq to visit four Slovenian army instructors who are training Iraqi security forces in a base near Baghdad
He also held meetings with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Foreign Minister Hoshyar Mahmud Zebari. Jansa said that he and his hosts agreed that Iraqi security forces needed to be trained as soon as possible so that they would be capable of providing security in Iraq on their own.
