The Slovenian Public Administration Ministry has received a special award from the European Commission for its presentation of an example of good practice and a comprehensive approach towards establishing a partnership with NGOs.
Taking part in the Partnership Forum, which took place in Brussels as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities held between 9 and 12 October, the ministry presented its approach to creating a partnership with NGOs.
Highlighted in the presentation was the example of amending the government rules of procedure in a way that enables NGOs and the stake holders to actively participate in the drafting of regulations.
Among other measures, the ministry also pointed to a three-year training programme for NGOs and government representatives, to the agreement on cooperation between NGOs and the Slovenian government and to the programme of measures aimed at developing the civil sector.
As the ministry explained in a press release on Friday, these projects are to be carried out with the support of structural funds.
