The government on Thursday adopted a programme for children and youth for the 2006-2016 period, a document which deals with all crucial aspects of children's lives, in particular those where there are problems.
The programme deals with health, family, education, culture, protection from violence, abuse and neglect, as well as leisure activities and international cooperation.
According to Janez Drobnic, minister of labour, family and social affairs, activities carried out under the programme would eliminate obstacles to education and training, reduce the dropout rate and prevent children from becoming the victims of media.
The document is to be followed by action plans drawn up by the individual ministries in their respective fields.
