Gorenje Supervisors Endorse Possibility of Capital Injection
The supervisory board of home appliance maker Gorenje endorsed on Tuesday plans for a capital injection, the management board of the Velenje-based company said on Wednesday, adding that it cannot yet discuss the details of the share capital increase.
According to media reports, Gorenje's capital injection would amount to EUR 26m, 10% of its share capital, with all existing shareholders to be invited to take part. The shareholders would also retain their pre-emptive rights.
Gorenje CEO Franjo Bobinac added that the company plans organic growth as well as growth through takeovers. It is also mulling to issue new shares on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange or a foreign one.
According to the company's plans, Gorenje will reach EUR 1.5bn in revenues by 2010, becoming one of the five largest producers of household appliances in Europe, Bobinac revealed.
