TUESDAY, 29 August
LJUBLJANA - Japanese Minister for Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kazuo Kitagawa is to discuss opportunities in tourism with his Slovenian host, Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak, during his two-day visit here.
CELJE - The 39th International Trade Fair in Celje (6 to 13 September) is to be presented to the press by Celjski sejem, the company running the fairgrounds.
LJUBLJANA - The National Electoral Commission is to meet for one of its sessions before the October local elections.
LJUBLJANA - A news conference ahead of the 21st Vilenica International Literary Festival, which is to take place between 6 and 10 September.
CELJE - The city of Celje is to confer the Veronika Prize 2006 for the 10th year on best collection of poetry, to be presented to the press on 28 August.

WEDNESDAY, 30 August
LJUBLJANA - Chinese state councillor for foreign relations Tang Jiaxuan is to visit Slovenia upon the invitation of PM Janez Jansa; through 1 September.
LJUBLJANA - The architects bureau Sadar Vuga Arhitekti are to speak to the press about their project which is to present Slovenia at the 10th International Architecture Exhibition of Venice.
LJUBLJANA - A news conference prior to the last event at the Festival Ljubljana 2006. As part of the festival, theatre director Tomaz Pandur is to showcase his latest project "Tesla Electric Company", dedicated to the great inventor Nikola Tesla.

THURSDAY, 31 August
KRSKO - The fund for the financing of the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant (NEK) is to present its operations in 2005 and the first half of 2006 as well as other topical issues to the press.
ZIRI - New owners of the footwear manufacturer Alpina - over 56% was bought by financial group Infond Holding 2 in June - are to elect a new supervisory board. CEO Andraz Kopac announced to tender his resignation the same day.
LJUBLJANA - Weekly government session.
LJUBLJANA - Slovenian musicologist Monika Kartin is to receive an Austrian cross of honour for art and science.

FRIDAY, 1 September
LAPPEENRANTA, Finland - Slovenian FM Dimitrij Rupel is to attend a two-day informal meeting of EU foreign ministers.

No major events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
