Swimming: Markic Bags First Medal for Slovenia

Budapest, 05 August

Slovenian swimmer Matjaz Markic bagged Slovenia's first medal at this year's European Swimming Championships with a third place in the men's 50 metres breaststroke final on Saturday in Budapest.

Markic swam his personal best of 27.87 seconds and was four tenths of a second off the pace, set by Ukraine's Oleg Lisogor and Italy's Alessandro Terrin who came in first with an identical time of 27.48.
