Ten Mozart Operas and Concertos to Be Screened in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, 04 August

As part of the 250 anniversary of the birth of the famous Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, ten video recordings of Mozart's greatest operas and concertos will be screened at the Ljubljana Castle as part of the Ljubljana Summer Festival 2006.

The screenings, organised by the Ljubljana Festival, the city of Vienna and the Wiener Mozartjahr 2006 organisation, will take place between 11 and 20 August 2006. The free projections are to begin at 9 PM every evening, weather permitting.
The event, a part of the Vienna Mozart Music Film Festival in Central Europe project, will be launched by a screening of one of the composer's greatest pieces, Don Giovanni, performed by the Orchestra of the Vienna national opera, conducted by Riccardo Muti.
Other operas on display include Titus (La Clemenza di Tito), All women are like that (Cosi fan tutte), The Abduction from the Seraglio and the Marriage of Figaro, with the rest of the programme consisting of video recordings of concerts.
