Ljubljana, 20 July

Slovenian carrier Adria Airways carried 406,000 passengers in the first six months of the year, up 15% over the year before. The number of flights and cabin occupancy increased as well, the company said in a press release on Thursday.

The amount of cargo meanwhile increased by 20%. In June, when the new cargo plane, a SAAB 340A, become operational, cargo volumes increased 57% year-on-year, Adria said.
"We are especially pleased that the growth in passenger traffic is spilling over to other segments," Adria chairman Tadej Tufek was quoted as saying.
