Ljubljana, 30 June
The Slovenian national carrier, Adria Airways, has launched daily cargo flights between Ljubljana and Liege, which will be serviced by a SAAB 340A cargo turboprop that it has purchased.
Adira Airways said in a press release that the new plane, as well as another of the same type that it intends to rent in the autumn, will increase cargo volumes by 30% this year. The plane, capable of transporting 3.86 tonnes of cargo, will give Adria the necessary independence for its cargo flights, the company added.
In the first four months of 2006, Adria managed to transport 1,719 tonnes of cargo, up 17% on the same period last year.
