Ljubljana, 19 June

Representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the municipality of Bled, the Bled Culture Institute and the National Museum have signed an agreement giving caretaker duties for the famous Bled Castle to the Bled Culture Institute.

Bled Castle, which overlooks the picturesque Lake Bled, has so far been managed by the Ministry of Culture, which has now decided to appoint a caretaker for the castle.
The Bled Culture Institute has been tasked with drafting a long-term strategy of managing the iconic castle as well as annual plans for the venue and a maintenance plan.
The agreement paves the way to urgent works on the castle, including renovation works and the construction of an elevator and a new car park.
Bled Castle, which dates back to 1004, is a national cultural monument and serves as a venue for various exhibitions, concerts and exhibitions.
