Editorial
In a week of international events involving Slovenia, the spotlight was on the three-day official visit to Russia by Prime Minister Janez Jansa and a strong team of ministers and businessmen as well as on talks by President Janez Drnovsek and representatives of a rebel group from the Sudanese region of Darfur. Slovenia moreover assumed chairmanship over the Human Security Network, an informal group of states for promoting human rights. Prime Minister Jansa and Putin expressed their pleasure over the economic cooperation between the two countries and called for Russian investments into Slovenian economy. Jansa also met his counterpart Mikhail Fradkov, with whom he agreed that Russia would pay its US$ 129m clearing debt in the next five years.
