Drnovsek Presents his Book on How to Change the World

Ljubljana, 25 May

The world today is confused and the individual is confused as well. Until people do not change their ways and start solving global conflicts, nothing will change, President Janez Drnovsek said on Thursday at the presentation of his new book entitled "Misli o zivljenju in zavedanju" (Thoughts on Life and Awareness).

"The world can only be changed by changing ourselves, to try and find our inner balance, peace and integrity and then transfer these to our surroundings," Drnovsek added upon presenting the book, published by Mladinska knjiga publishing house.
"The book is oriented towards the individual. To search for his inner balance, peace, establishing a sufficiently high level of awareness towards oneself and the world," he told the press in Ljubljana.
Drnovsek also believes that unless people demand changes, institutions and the politics will not bring any, as it is "much easier to adjust to the existing rules than to try and change them".
He moreover thinks that the original point of religion is to enable people to find inner balance and harmonise it with the world they live in. "It is an upbeat book. I am an optimist. I am sure we can succeed in efforts to find inner balance. We just have to start and not quit," he explained.
Drnovsek's first book "Moja Resnica: Jugoslavija 1989 - Slovenija 1991" (My Truth: Yugoslavia 1989 - Slovenia 1991) was also published by Mladinska knjiga, in 1996.
The publisher will moreover earmark SIT 100 (EUR 0.42) for humanitarian purposes from every copy sold. The book is priced at SIT 4,990 (EUR 20.83).
